Sept 2011 PacketFence 3.0 released @
A new major release bringing new hardware support, several shiny new features, enhancements, a ton of bug fixes and updated translations. This release is considered ready for production use.

Aug 2011 Security is an ongoing process and awareness through education for all users is a significant factor in the protection of the systems and data of the organization. eSubnet is providing the document “Dissecting Malware Email - Understanding how to identify bad email” free of charge so people may learn the signs of potentially harmful email.

Jun 2011 Due to the sensitive nature of this project the end client must remain anonymous. eSubnet reviewed the environment making recommendations on an optimized deployment for the NetScaler Application Firewall by Citrix. The end client so impressed with our expertise requested assistance with the deployment. We also provided trouble shooting and knowledge transfer.

Apr 2011 The Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) has received reports of a phishing scam, using images from the CIRA website, which is designed to collect personal information, including credit card numbers.

This is a targeted phishing attack. CIRA wishes to advise you that CIRA does not ask for credit card information, as all registrations are performed through .CA certified Registrars. If you have provided your credit card information to this site, we strongly advise that you contact your credit card company or bank immediately.

Apr 2011 The staff of eSubnet replaced the in-house core switch today with no noticeable downtime. The Core Switch after years of faithful service finally succumbed to the millions of packets which have traversed the interfaces. A new faster switch was implemented with no noticeable downtime.

Mar 2011 The Canadian Mental Health Association – Simcoe County Branch expanded into new office space by opening a satellite office. ESubnet provided the network design and implementation to have VOIP phones installed in the new location eliminating the need for traditional phone lines.
